How to raise your Instagram business account?

Instagram has over a billion monthly users, with five hundred million people logging onto the platform daily. After Facebook, it has become the largest and most engaging social platform. Across the globe, 65% of Instagram users are between the ages of 18 and 34. If you are targeting your products to the younger crowd, Instagram is the place to be.(Council)



In 2017 Instagram reported having 600 million active monthly users, the majority of whom use it on a daily basis (Instagram, 2017). This number is rapidly growing, and the most likely users of Instagram are young women aged 18-29 years (Duggan, 2015; Statistic Brain, 2016). (Virtanen et al.).

To drive more engagement and encourage your audience to interact with your content, you should:


  1. Share the story of your company.

  2. Promote any new product or service

  3. Provide how-to instructions

  4. Develop your own custom FAQs section

  5. Establish your brand’s authority on a particular topic


As a business, it is essential to write an impactful bio.

The bio is critical for your brand.

You can inform people who you are, what you sell and why they should consider buying your products or services.



Instagram is a visually dominated platform that contains visually orientated content.


We process visual quicker and better than text.





Visual content can be effective for:

  • increasing traffic to sites

  • building awareness of brands

  • increasing or stimulating more conversations

  • stimulating the spread of conversations

  • facilitating the sharing or spread of information

  • breaking through clutter and noise in the marketplace to make your company stand out.






Many Instagrammers discover new products on Instagram; thus, it is evolving from purely social media to an e-commerce platform.


Companies can even sell their products directly through pictures, instead of the user clicking to visit another site.(Council)








It is not enough to be present on social media; you need to go beyond just posting; it involves other endorsement activities like likes, comments, followers.


Following should be the primary activity for attracting your target audience to follow you, whereas liking and commenting are relevant for other purposes.


Liking and commenting intend to communicate with existing customers, following your account and strengthening the relationship with your existing customer base.
